Carrall Street Billboard

Combined Print Media (digital print, woodcut, pronto plate lithography, chin colle)

30" x 22-3/8"

In “Carral Street Billboard” a homeless man is depicted with his few belongings beside a billboard advertising the lottery 649 with its slogan “Imagine the Freedom”. This portrait is based off of a real man I saw from time to time on my drive to work who sold picked flowers at this very corner under actual ads for the 649. This piece is an exploration of media and technique, as well as the role of the individual in our advertising-soaked culture. This print combines digital print, woodcut, pronto plate lithography, and chin colle.
